Ready to discover the magic of the night in Kaunas museums? A night when art doesn’t sleep – and neither should you! On May 17, European Museum Night returns with everything from historical exhibitions to creative workshops, interactive experiences, and special performances. Most museums will be open until 10 PM, giving you plenty of time to explore culture and still catch the Eurovision final at home. For those who couldn’t care less about the contest – art awaits until midnight. Entry is free of charge for most events (though some may require registration)

Vytautas the Great War Museum

This year’s Museum Night programme is dedicated to the history of Lithuanian military engineering, marking the 30th anniversary of the Colonel Juozas Vitkus Engineering Battalion. Military Equipment Exhibition

Kaunas City Museum
On May 17, during the European Night of Museums, five departments of the Kaunas City Museum invite visitors to experience the city through all senses:
- Kaunas Town Hall (Rotušės a. 15): exhibitions, educational activities, and sensory workshops.
- Kaunas Castle (Pilies g. 17): a medieval encounter with archery and archaeology.
- Folk Music Museum (L. Zamenhofo g. 12): explore Lithuanian folk instruments and music traditions, also suitable for children.
- Mikas and Kipras Petrauskas House (K. Petrausko g. 31): exhibition opening, lecture, tours, and children’s activities.
- Juozas Gruodis House (Salako g. 18): open during the day; visitors are invited to explore the composer’s home and enjoy tea.
