“The commemoration of our city’s birthday serves as a reminder of our glorious history. Kaunas is a city by the water, therefore, it’s no coincidence that we plan its main festivities along the banks of the Nemunas and the Neris rivers. We will celebrate for three days. We will take care of the entertainment, and all that Kaunas residents and guests need to bring is a good mood. All events are free of charge,” Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis says, extending the invitation to the celebration.
Among the highlights, the Childhood Meadow, nestled on the banks of the Nemunas River within Kaunas Santaka Park. Attendees can indulge in picnics, recreational games, musical performances, and designated dance areas. Children will delight in meeting various characters while nearby, the Kakė Makė trampoline park awaits. They can enjoy colourful kite flying, mini-football tournaments, diverse educational activities, a karaoke space, and delectable treats.
Party with Famous Performers
Performers will grace the stages of Kaunas over the three-day celebration, offering music enthusiasts of all ages and tastes an unparalleled experience with more than ten planned performances. On the Grand Music Stage of Kaunas Santaka Park, the melodies of renowned Lithuanian and international performers and bands will resound, accompanied by captivating musical improvisations and rhythmic compositions curated by DJs.
The Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra and soloists will announce the beginning of the celebration. They will perform an electronic music programme entitled Feel The Future. An impressive laser show will invite everyone to admire and immerse into the future.
The crowning moment of the event will be the performance by electronic dance music sensation, Sigala. The British artist’s tracks have garnered hundreds of millions of views on the YouTube platform, and his live performances are renowned for igniting dance floors.
Kaunas will also be greeted a happy birthday by a world-renowned star – pianist, virtuoso Robert Wells (Sweden) presenting his programme Rhapsody in Rock, the electronic music duo Beissoul & Einius, Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys, Saulės kliošas, Proflame, and Evgenya Redko.
Finally, the celebration will reach its zenith with a performance by one of the nation’s most beloved artists, Justinas Jarutis.
